These terms cover purchases of The Benefits Checklist and any optional State Benefits Pack from The Financial Wire. Questions can be sent to help@thefinancialwire.com.
What you are buying
The Benefits Checklist is a digital information product, delivered as PDF files you download. The core purchase includes: the guide itself, which explains the federal and state benefit programs it covers — what each one does, who it is for, how to apply and what to say when you call — together with a state-by-state telephone directory for the agencies that run them; a printable application tracker; and an open-settlements insert that is refreshed periodically, so the link returns the current edition rather than a fixed copy.
The guide is revised from time to time as programs and their figures change. The version delivered is the current one at the time of download, and the description above is what every version provides. Any page count, program count or dollar figure quoted elsewhere on this site describes the edition current at the time of writing and is not a term of this sale.
If you choose the optional State Benefits Pack at checkout, it is a separate PDF covering the one state you select, giving that state’s own figures, offices and telephone numbers. Its price and the state chosen are shown before payment, and its checkbox starts unchecked.
Price, tax and payment
The price shown at checkout is a one-time payment. Any required sales tax is calculated from the ZIP code entered and is shown before payment. Card payments are processed by Stripe; PayPal payments are processed by PayPal. Card details never pass through or remain on this website. A card statement will show RETIREMENT GUIDES.
Delivery and access
After a successful payment, private download links appear immediately and are emailed to the purchase address. The links may be used again later. The open-settlements link returns the newest published insert. Refunded orders lose access to their download links.
Free 2027 update
The 2027 edition is included with the core purchase at no extra charge. When it is published, it will be sent to the email address used for the purchase. This does not require newsletter enrollment.
Optional newsletter
Newsletter enrollment is optional and is not required to buy or receive the product. The newsletter box starts unchecked. If you check it, you can unsubscribe from any newsletter email.
30-day refund
You may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked. Reply to the receipt or email help@thefinancialwire.com. Refunds return to the original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days. Download access is disabled after a refund.
What the guide is, and is not
The guide organizes public information about government and nonprofit benefit programs. It does not submit applications, guarantee eligibility or guarantee an agency decision. Every program described can be applied for directly without buying this guide. The guide is educational information, not financial, legal, tax, medical or benefits advice.
The Financial Wire is not affiliated with or endorsed by Social Security, Medicare, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the IRS or any other government agency.
